The Hardest Call I Had to Make—And Why I’d Still Make It Again

May 13, 2025

Letting someone go is never easy—especially when you care deeply about them. But as a leader, protecting your mission and culture is non-negotiable.

A few months ago, I had to release a team member who no longer aligned with the values we uphold at Rvv Corp. It wasn’t about skill—it was about integrity, energy, and direction. I prayed, counseled, and gave multiple opportunities. But eventually, I had to choose the mission over the moment.

The result? A stronger culture. More alignment. Greater trust among our team.

If I had to do it again, I’d only change one thing: I would’ve acted sooner.

Sometimes leadership means pruning—even when it hurts. And through it all, I’ve learned that obedience to what’s right always brings fruit.
